The fact that “Christian” anti-Zionism has gained ground and even an air of legitimacy in some circles is an indictment on the evangelical church.
Replacement theology first began to infect and debilitate the church in the second century, eventually providing the theological justification for centuries of antisemitism. It ultimately played a crucial role in the Holocaust.
Today, replacement theology (also known as supersessionism) is pervasive and undergirds the new “Christian” anti-Zionism. In an unholy alliance with the secular anti-Israel media, sectors of the “Christian” anti-Zionist lobby have quietly rebranded and repackaged the old antisemitism.
Here in New Zealand we witness supposedly Christian groups such as Tear Fund, World Vision and Laidlaw College promoting a clergyman who has openly associated with terrorists and Holocaust deniers and who has been repeatedly accused of antisemitism.
In addition we see the promotion of an anti-Israel propaganda film described by the august Simon Wiesenthal Center as containing “monstrous distortions” and as “making a strong emotional argument built on lies”.
Israel.co.nz exists to affirm biblical Zionism and to provide a biblical and factual response to “Christian” anti-Zionism, replacement theology and media bias.
